Requirements for Participation	Basics in accounting Online course “Financial Accounting” of Harvard Business School recommended. Pre-reading of the recommended literature
Relation to other Modules in the Course	All modules and courses in the IFM program build on one another in the course of the study, therefore this module is related to most preceding modules. In order to successfully participate in subsequent lectures, the knowledge and skills of preceding as well as parallel lectures of all financial areas are necessary. This interdisciplinary and holistic approach aims to prepare students to navigate the increasing complexity of the finance sector and develop appropriate decision-making skills.

Students shall be able to do the following:

Summarize and interpret concepts and differences in international accounting, management accounting and financial accounting
Interpret and apply different concepts of modern financial management
Recognize new problems in financial management, compare various methods and implement them in a suitable and effective way

Exchange information with representatives of different academic and non-academic fields of activity on alternative, theoretically justifiable problem solutions

Ensure the implementation of situation-appropriate solution processes through constructive, conceptual action

The contribution of the module to sustainable development is the awareness that all company stakeholders must gain thorough insight into the economic development of companies based on international accounting standards. Especially in internationally operating companies, the consolidation of financial figures is a prerequisite for sustainable management. Furthermore, sustainable development demands transparent coverage of all internal processes and calculations.
